The great Barrier reef
The Great Barrier reef

The Great Barrier Reef stretches 1,400 miles, from Bundaberg, in the south, almost all the way to New Guinea. More than 400 species of coral are found in the reef. The world's largest black marlin swim in the surrounding waters, along with 1,500 other species of fish. Almost 250 species of birds nest in its cays and islands. Diving Osprey Reef takes one down sunken walls 1,000 meters tall. Schools of hammerhead, barracuda, and dog-tooth tuna greet divers at North Horn. Lizard Island is surrounded by a spectacular reef garden. Explore the reef from the decks of a yacht or the shores of its famous cays.
