Directions: Refuge located N of U.S. Highway 101, W of Sequim. Turn N on Kitchen Dick Road and continue 3 miles to Dungeness Recreation Area. Go through recreation area to the refuge parking lot. Entrance fee required

Primary Wildlife: Key wintering and spring gathering area for brant and other waterfowl. The calmer waters of Dungeness Bay make this an outstanding shorebird area. Occasional marine mammals, including killer whales, may be seen. Pupping and hauling out area for harbor seals.

Habitat: 631 acres of sand spit, tidelands, and forested uplands

Recreation and Education: Wildlife observation, study, and photography. Saltwater fishing, clamming, and crabbing. Beachcombing. Interpretive exhibits.

Special Note: Entrance fee is $3.00 per family daily, or admission with Federal duck stamp, golden eagle, golden age, or golden access passports. 7 Dungeness Spit is one of the longest natural spits in the world. Public access to the refuge is by foot or horseback only (check special regulations). Pets prohibited. Camping is available in the adjacent Dungeness Recreation Area. Refuge is open daylight hours, 7 days a week
