Directions: The refuge office is in Othello. The refuge is located about 8 miles NW of Othello along several access roads. Write for map.

Primary Wildlife: A wintering area for an average population of over 100,000 ducks (mostly mallards) and Canada geese. Some mallards, redheads, and cinnamon teal nest on the refuge along with various song, water, marsh, and shore birds, and many hawks and owls.

Habitat: 23,000 acres in the famous Channeled Scablands of the Columbia River Basin -- numerous small to medium-sized lakes surrounded by sagebrush and grassy uplands, canyons, and buttes.

Recreation and Education: Wildlife observation, study, and photography. Upland game and waterfowl hunting. Trout and warm water fishing.

Special Note: Office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday.
