Riding on park trails is prohibited. The unpaved roads are rather wide and are dirt and gravel covered. They offer an interesting alternative to the paved roads.
Old Black Top Road
From Turkey Run Parking area to lot F is approximately 1.5 miles and is moderate. The intersection of Taylor Farm Road is .5 miles from the parking lot.
Taylor Farm Road
This road is a .9 mile section of the North Valley Trail running south of' the park Scenic Drive to the Taylor farm at the intersection of High Meadows Trail. Beyond this point road conditions may vary, so check with the visitor center. Level and easy.
Liming Lane
From lot I to the park boundary is .8 mile and is easy. After leaving the park, the road continues to the intersection of Joplin Road (Route 619).
Mawavi Road
From Lot G to Route 619 is 2 miles and is moderate except for about a .4 mile section that is steep just north of the bridge over South Quantico Creek.
Burma Road
This road running north from the Scenic Drive to just beyond the low water crossing at Quantico Creek is .6 of a mile, has a slight grade, and is easy. Heading east .8 of a mile towards Route 234 are a series of hills making this section moderately difficult.
Pyrite Mine Road
From lot D to the North Valley Trail is about 1 mile and is moderate except for a .4 mile section near the end which is steep. You cannot enter onto the North or South Valley trails at this point.
North Orenda Road
From lot D to the South Valley Trail is about 1.1 miles and is moderate. Please walk your bicycle across the bridge to connect up with the South Orenda Road.
South Orenda Road
From the bridge connection with the North Orenda to the Pine Grove Forest Trail is .5 miles and moderate. Walk your bicycle up the concrete trail to the parking lot and Visitor Center.
Practicalities
Water fountains, restrooms, and parking areas are located at the Pine Grove Picnic Area, Turkey Run Ridge parking lot, Telegraph Picnic Area, and Oak Ridge Campground. Water fountains are available through the spring, summer, and fall months. Additional parking is available at lots A through 1. Please park only in designated parking lots.
Bicycle racks are located at the Visitor Center and at the Turkey Run Ridge parking lot.
The Park is open from sun up to sun down and closes at dark.
Entrance fees are required so carry proof of payment while you ride.
