Overlapping northern California and southern Oregon, this magnificent forest quarters absolutely extraordinary rock formations. This includes the Cascade Range, which is comprised of igneous rock, and the Coastal Range, which is mostly sedimentary. Because of its varied terrain, the climate varies from arctic to almost tropical, and the forest is home to many rare plants, including some odd forms of cacti.
