Voyageurs

Named for the French-Canadian fur traders who glided through these glacial waters by canoe in the 18th and 19th century, Voyageurs National Park adjoins Boundary Waters and features plenty of island-dotted water interspersed with weird rock formations and surrounded by wild forests, bogs, rolling hills, and swamps. The five large lakes and numerous smaller bodies of water form the focus for most activity in Voyageurs.

It's the walleye that attracts anglers this far north; the challenging presence of this big, fighting fish makes Voyageurs one of the top walleye destinations in the world. Smallmouth bass, northern pike, and crappie provide an alternative diversion should you need a break from fighting the walleye.
