Christine Thomas
Christine L.Thomas, outdoor adventurer, storyteller, college professor at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, wife and mother, has fished, hunted and camped from New Mexico to New Brunswick and from Alaska to Florida. She has created a program to help other women experience the excitement of being outside: the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program. What began as a college outreach workshop evolved into a program which introduces about 12,000 women throughout North America to outdoor activities each year.

Author of Becoming an Outdoors Woman: My Outdoor Adventure, her first book, Thomas has written extensively for many national publications including Safari, North American Hunter, Deer and Deer Hunting, and Wisconsin Natural Resources. She is currently working on a book titled Taking Children Outdoors, co-authored with Diane Lueck. Her many honors include being named 1998 Budweiser/National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Outdoorsman of the Year.

Thomas was a GORP guest while we featured an excerpt from Becoming an Outdoors Woman on our home page.

Check out her answers to your questions on hunting, fishing, conservation, and her efforts to introduce the joys of the outdoor life to women.
