GORP Tested: Alpine Packs
Cold, Cold World Chaos
By Paul Cleveland
Chaos is one thing you won't experience with this functional pack. "Great all-around pack that I'd ski with and climb with," said Brandon. We all agreed the Chaos isn't the most comfortable pack for long approaches, but it's just right once you're on (or off) route.
The Chaos has ski slots and beefy daisy chains sewn along each side, and the stitching is bombproof. A no-hassle crampon pouch, two ice-axe loops with quick-release buckles, and stout gear loops make this simple, climber-friendly model the cleanest, most efficient alpine pack in the test.
The pack cloth used on the upper part of the pack, however, isn't as tough as the ripstop pack cloth found on the rival Wild Things Andinista.
