GORP Tested: Bivouac Sacks
L.L. Bean Gore-Tex Bivy

This simple bivy has a Gore-Tex upper and coated nylon floor. You access it by way of a crescent-shape, double-slider zipper located along the head seam. Nick and Steph thought this bag was a little too snug. With such a tight fit, cramming in all your gear, water bottles, boots, and winter sleeping bag is a problem. Mosquito netting zips in and is removable.

All in all this no-frills bivy sack is one of the lightest and most compact in the bunch, and at a mere $110 it's a good buy.

Weight: 1 lb, 8 oz.
Price: $110
Weatherproofness: 3
Claustrophobia factor: 2
