Brodie Mountain

One of the few ski areas that fosters an Irish flair. St. Patrick's Day is a big deal here, and the rest of the year is filled with unending special events. A typically small Appalachian hill, but the emphasis on fun means you'll likely have just that.

The nearest area to Boston, Wachussett offers some genuine steep pitches that are constantly groomed. Proximity to the big city can mean crowds, but plenty of excellent on-snow programs and special events make Wachussett a good bet for an accessible day or weekend.
